QUEENS COLLEGE

The Diploma in Preschool Education is a two and half years programme and its main aim is to provide trainees with knowledge, creativity, analytical, entrepreneurial, managerial, communication and critical thinking skills that will enable them to achieve the qualified teacher status as required by the Ministry of Education. This programme provides professional training that will enable trainees to teach competently in the preschool. The diploma program will develop trainees’ knowledge thereby students will have a better understanding about the preschool educational system and the Malaysian National Curriculum. Trainees will develop various teaching techniques and they would be able to know when to use or apply the appropriate teaching technique. Trainees will develop sensitivity towards cultural, intellectual and social diversity thereby they would be able to maximize each student abilities. The program promotes a sense of professionalism as such trainees would be able to develop effective working relationships with colleagues and parents.

Upon completion of this programme, students will acquire pedagogical knowledge which is very useful for the teaching and learning activities. Students will also gain soft skills and they would be able to use information and communication technologies to enhance students learning experience. Students will be knowledgeable and skilful in using or applying various strategies, approaches, methods and techniques to facilitate effective teaching and learning Besides academic matters, students will have the knowledge and skills to organise, coach and manage various sport events particularly during the co-curricular activities thereby helping the Malaysian Government to achieve the 1 student 1 sport’s vision.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Graduates in Diploma in Preschool Education are qualified to teach in any public or private preschool.

SPM with 3 credits in any subject
